HILLSIDE green thumb Katarina Beska knew she was growing a cool cactus when it sprouted an enormous flower.
Mrs Beska and her husband Paul were surprised when one of their many cacti flourished over a few short weeks and grew more than two metres high.
And their four-year-old granddaughter Isabelle loves nothing better than hanging out under the huge plant and playing in the blossoming backyard.
As for when the 12-year-old plant’s growth spurt will end, Mrs Beska has no idea.
