CAROLINE Springs residents are being urged to get up close and personal with their local creek for the sake of its health. A planting day, held by Melbourne Water and supported by Melton City Council, aims to reconnect local residents with their creek to improve habitat and water quality for native animals. Friends of Kororoit Creek members will also be on hand to discuss their vital work with the creek and encourage residents to get involved. Cameron Howie, from Melbourne Water, said Caroline Springs was a young and vibrant community and the planting day was part of a wider effort to encourage the community to take pride in the area. The planting day will be held on Saturday 7 September from 1pm to 3pm at the barbecue shelter, corner of The Grange and Otago Loop, Caroline Springs. Anyone interested in helping out can turn up on the day, or visit www.melbournewater.com.au for more information.
