WILLIAMSTOWN High School has welcomed a new school bus that will do more than just transport students – it will also send a big message.
The school has recently taken delivery of a new 28-seat Higer minibus.
Apart from transporting students it will help raise funds for the school by becoming a moving advertising opportunity.
The school is currently raising funds to build a $2 million performing arts theatre.
The theatre will be a legacy project marking the school’s centenary which will be celebrated from October 2014 to October 2015.
The new minibus will relieve the pressure on the school’s former 22-seat minibus which was purchased nearly 20 years ago with funds raised by the Parents and Friends Association.
The new roomy bus can comfortably seat a class of 25 students plus supervising teachers.
Principal Lisa Sperling said the mini-bus was an important and well-used asset at the school.
“Not only is it in constant use doing the regular runs between campuses, it is also used to transport students and staff far and wide to many other country and interstate events providing a richer learning experience for all our students.”
She said the bus will provide a great opportunity for any organisation or business keen to promote itself and its association with Williamstown High School.
Ms Sperling said being constantly in use and covering many kilometres the bus will provide unique exposure for any advertiser.
The school wants to hear from any businesses interested in advertising on this moving billboard.
Organisations interested in having their signage on the bus should contact principal Lisa Sperling on 9397 1899 or email sperling.lisa.j@edumail.vic.gov.au.
