BURNSIDE Heights resident Adrian Camm will be rubbing shoulders with the country’s leading innovators at an upcoming event designed to unveil the nation’s youngest entrepreneurs.
Mr Camm was among 10 emerging leaders and innovators across Australia to have been selected as a scholarship winner from an enormous pool of talented applicants.
The winners will each receive a place at Creative Innovation 2011, enabling them to meet and discuss ideas and issues with other creative thinkers and an opportunity to present their work.
Named as outstanding Victorian Secondary Teacher of the Year, Mr Camm hopes to inspire his students to consider the effect of new technologies on learning and to rethink the role of the student, the teacher and the school.
He is also part of a team establishing Quantum Victoria; a centre of Excellence and Innovation which aims to re-energise science and mathematics education across Australia and the globe.
“The world is moving so fast and with rapid change, the only way to move forward is to produce children that know how to adapt and solve problems,” Mr Camm said.
“I’m passionate about technology. Access to technology levels the playing field for students and enables them to do things that we couldn’t have even dreamed about a few years ago.”
Mr Camm said he was looking forward to the seminar and couldn’t wait to hear the unique ideas other winners had to offer.
