THE Altona Swimming Club had double cause for celebration after announcing a new head coach and new training program last month.
Alicia Danaher will begin her role as head coach immediately, and brings with her a wealth of experience as a nationally accredited bronze licence coach.
As a competitor, Danaher raced at the Victorian Age Swimming Championships and was a semi-finalist at the 2011 Australian Swimming Championships.
Together with the signing, Altona has introduced a brand new structured swim program, which aims to provide clear pathways for all swimmers to reach their individual goals.
The club will use the latest coaching methods and techniques to ensure all swimmers are catered for.
Swim club president Steve Biggs said the program was designed to provide the widest range of services possible to members.
“The club strives to be a family orientated club, but also allows swimmers every opportunity to be as competitive as they possibly can,” he said.
