City of Wyndham residents were the envy of international cycling fans everywhere as they stepped out their front doors to see the cream of the cycling community whiz by their homes. The Championships, which culminated in the elite men’s road race from Melbourne to Geelong on Sunday, drew a huge crowd of spectators who lined the streets of Werribee as cyclists, including Evans and eventual winner Thor Hushovd, from Norway, zipped down Bulban St towards Geelong where they did 11 laps of the road circuit.
