A TRAIN crashed into a car on the Furlong Rd level crossing in St Albans last Tuesday afternoon.
The female driver of the car was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with minor injuries, after the collision at around 12.50pm.
Buses replaced trains on the Sunbury line between Sunshine and Watergardens while authorities dealt with the scene of the accident.
The woman’s vehicle hit a pole on Furlong Rd after the train impact.
Five years ago, a government report ranked the Furlong Rd level crossing as the fifth-most dangerous in the state.
Along with the level crossing on Main Rd East and West in St Albans, residents and traders have been campaigning for the Furlong Rd crossing to be upgraded for several years.
