STARTING this Thursday, Williamstown Little Theatre (WLT) will present its latest production, The History Boys. The story, set in the early 1980s, sees a group of boys at a Sheffield grammar school being prepared for university entrance exams. Old timer Hector is an unconventional English teacher whose approach to education encompasses poetry, culture and zany improvisation – a preparation for life. With an eye on results, the ambitious headmaster employs a young history teacher, Irwin, who takes a different approach, teaching the boys to play the system to win. Young actors Tim, Samuel, Joshua, Ryan, Alex and James are looking forward to putting on the show in Williamstown’s beloved community theatre. It has been presenting quality theatre for over 60 years. It presents five plays each year, and has an extensive subscriber base. The History Boys opens this Thursday 8 September and runs until the Sunday 25 September. For more information, visit www.wlt.org.au or call 9885 9678.
