Bound and gagged

A ST ALBANS couple were bound, gagged and threatened with a baseball bat and knife during a burglary last week.
The victims were asleep at their Syme St home at 2.10am on Thursday morning when they were woken by a knock at the door. The victims approached the front door and were told to open up for police.
On opening the door, two men pushed the victims inside the house, forced them onto a bed and bound and gagged them, threating them with a knife and baseball bat.
The men ransacked the house and found bank cards, threatening the victims in order to obtain the pin numbers, before fleeing. The victims were able to release themselves and call police.
Six police units, including the Crime Investigation Team attended the scene. Police are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact Detective Senior Constable Sandra Thwaites on 9313 3401 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
