Looking good for leisure

By NATALIE GALLENTI

EYNESBURY will soon be home to an impressive recreational facility after Melton City Council last week endorsed the Eynesbury Recreation Reserve Master-plan.
After being placed on public exhibition for consultation for two months an officers report recommended the master-plan be adopted by the council.
The reserve will be located at St Arnaud Rd, Eynesbury, and will sit on 12.25 hectares of land, supporting the area’s growing population. Eynesbury presently hosts 584 households.
It will include two senior size AFL/cricket ovals with synthetic cricket wickets, training lights and cricket nets. The reserve will also contain two outdoor basketball/netball courts with training lights and eight tennis courts.
Car parking spaces, barbecue area with rotunda, community pavilion, play space with barbecue, youth node and fenced dog off-lead area will all feature at the facility.
However the reserve will not include a pool, despite many residents naming it as a top priority during consultation talks.
