USUALLY it’s Maddison Parker making her parents proud, however last week the brave 10-year-old was in awe of her father, Simon.
During the month of May, Maddy will be working tirelessly to promote Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a debilitating genetic disease both her and her sister Kayla suffer from. And to kick off the month their doting father decided he would get his first tattoo to promote awareness of EDS.
Featuring a zebra, the symbol for EDS, and his daughters’ names, Simon couldn’t be happier with his decision.
“The tattoo took an hour and 10 minutes, that’s nothing compared to what Maddy and Kayla go through each day,” he told Star.
“Every time I look at it, it will be a reminder of what they go through and how proud I am of them.”
And Simon said he plans to show the artwork off when they weather gets warmer.
“My wardrobe will include more singlets from now on.”
Melton City Council will also fly the EDS flag this month. 97538 Picture: JOE MASTROIANNI
