HOBSONS Bay City Council is inviting residents to celebrate Australia Day at its annual breakfast.
The council and the Lions Club of Altona will host the Australia Day breakfast on Saturday 26 January at 8am in the Williamstown Town Hall supper room.
The breakfast will feature Australia Day Ambassador and entertainer Mike Brady.
Mr Brady is famous for the iconic football songs ‘Up There Cazaly’ and ‘One Day in September’.
Australian Olympic Rower Sarah Tait will also recount how she won an Olympic silver medal in London and the Boy from Oz’s Matthew Azzopardi will sing the National Anthem.
After the breakfast the council will announce the winners of the 2013 Citizen of the Year Award at a citizenship ceremony where local residents will also take up Australian citizenship.
