MINI maestro Julie Dang is hitting all the right notes with her musical talents.
The talented youngster from Cairnlea started playing the piano two years ago, but is already making her own waves in the music industry.
Now just seven-years-old, Julie continues to hone her skills at Lina’s Music House in Deer Park and she recently achieved top marks for her piano practical examination.
She also received a Merit Award for her outstanding work last year and has performed in front of crowds at several school concerts.
“I got lots of trophies, because I have finished my exams and I got an A. I just did it, and practiced hard,” Julie said.
“I had always wanted to play the piano because I can use different notes to hear sounds and songs.”
Julie’s mother Jessie Nguyen said she couldn’t be more proud of her daughter who has excelled at her studies.
“As a parent I want to do all I can to give my daughter confidence,” Ms Nguyen said.
“I always encourage my daughter and tell her that she is good.”
Ms Nguyen said she often sits in on her daughter’s piano lessons so she can help her practice at home three times a week.
“I sit with her when they teach her, so I learn the errors, and I can help her improve more quickly,” she said.
Julie’s music teacher Lina Chan said she was impressed with the young pianist’s outstanding musical achievements.
“She has been studying piano with me for a few years now and has never missed a lesson. She always attends her weekly lesson during the school term and school holidays,” Ms Chan said.
“She is a very hard-working and a cheerful girl who is always open to learning new things no matter how hard it gets. It has been a pleasure teaching her.”
