SUMMER and the sea go hand in hand and that’s why Hobsons Bay has decided to get involved in the annual Summer by the Sea program.
The Coastaction/Coastcare initiative is a statewide program of activities running along Victoria’s coastline.
The initiative is an opportunity to promote Hobsons Bay’s coastal environment with activities for the whole family.
Residents are urged to get down to the Altona North Community Library between Monday 14 January and Wednesday 16 January between 10am and 3pm to see snakes, lizards, stick insects, frogs and more.
Andrew Wegener of Australian Wildlife Lectures will be there to educate residents on the importance of Hobsons Bay’s local Flora and Fauna and provide information about what they could find in their own backyards.
Mr Wegener will take his presentation to the environment resource centre at the Altona Library on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 January between 10am to 3pm.
The 2013 Summer by the Sea program will also include water watch and bird watching tours.
