IN A fusion of the comic and the tragic, Williamstown Little Theatre brings to life three of Alan Bennett’s ‘Talking Heads’ monologues based on domestic tales of human fragility.
In its latest season, director Shirley Sydenham transforms three of Bennett’s monologues into memorable pieces that are sure to have audiences laughing, feeling empathy or sorrow for the characters.
“Each monologue has some kind of unexpected twist to the story, which unfolds with Bennett’s characteristic wit and observation – all the characters are rather isolated or lonely people,” Ms Sydenham said.
The cast includes Mary Little, a WLT life member in what will be her 31st production at WLT; Marianne Collopy, who won a Gold Award as Best Actress in a drama at the Victorian Drama League Awards in WLT’s 2012 production of Doubt, and Pauline Snell, an experienced voice over actor who specialises in accents.
Each monologue runs for 40 minutes. The season starts on 7 February and runs until 23 February.
