GEORDIE Worland may not fit the stereotype of a musical theatre performer but don’t let that fool you.
This self-confessed blokey bloke and rugby fanatic has more than 10 years’ experience in musical theatre.
The Williamstown resident is taking part in the Cloc Musical Theatre production of Sunset Boulevard, which opened last Friday.
The show, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is adapted from the film by Billy Wilder, which won three Academy Awards.
Geordie said he was excited to receive a part in the show, moving to Williamstown from Sydney just last year.
“It’s a great opportunity to get involved in Cloc,” he said.
Prior to being on stage Geordie was in the orchestra as a musician but always wanted to perform.
Geordie said audiences should expect an exceptional performance.
“The cast are outstanding,” he said.
“A few of us agree Sunset Boulevard is Andrew Lloyd Webber best piece.
“The score is fantastic.”
The show, famous for its magnificent sets and costumes, will run until 19 May at The National Theatre in St Kilda.
