MELTON Shire Council is gearing up for the festive season and wants residents to join the fun.
Three Carols by Candlelight concerts will be held throughout the municipality in December, featuring performances from local choirs and schools as well as face painting, roving performances and appearances from the man in red himself – Santa Claus.
Mayor Justin Mammarella said the carols were a local tradition enjoyed by many residents.
“I encourage all residents to come along to celebrate the festive season at one of our Carols by Candlelight concerts,” Cr Mammarella said.
“Each year, the community comes together at carols to celebrate the past year and spendsome time enjoying the spirit of the season with their family, friends and neighbours.
“If you have never experienced one of our wonderful Carols by Candlelight events, I encourage you to come along this year and enjoy one of these fantastic concerts.”
Residents are asked to bring along a blanket or a small chair and food will be available for sale at all venues.
The concerts will be held from 6-8.30pm on Thursday 8 December at Diggers Rest Primary School in Plumpton Rd, 6-8.30pm on Friday 9 December at Caroline Springs Leisure Centre at 9-19 The Parade and 6.30-9.30pm on Saturday 10 December at Mt Carberry in Exford Rd, Melton South.
