BRIMBANK’S own living treasure celebrated her centenary last week. Norah Ward turned 100 on Tuesday 2 July. On Monday, she attended a party at the Deer Park Senior Citizens Club, where she is still an active member and loves to play bingo. Mrs Ward received letters of congratulations from former Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Governor-General Quentin Bryce and Queen Elizabeth at the event. Mrs Ward, who lives at Cumberland Manor in Sunshine North, featured on Star’s front page a few weeks ago. The great-grandmother said she did not know the secret to living until 100, but said she never smoked or drank.101658 Picture: ALESHA CAPONE
