Cops turn life-savers

TWO quick-thinking junior police constables have been praised for reviving an unconscious man during a routine patrol last Thursday.
The pair of officers were travelling in the Keilor Downs divisional van when they witnessed the man, unconscious behind the wheel of his locked car, on Hume Drive in Sydenham just after 2am.
The police used their batons to break into the car and managed to move the man – who was not breathing – onto the road, where they administered CPR.
The police spent around 15 minutes giving the Delahey man CPR before paramedics arrived on the scene.
Brimbank Senior Sergeant Trevor King said the speedy actions of the two officers could have helped to save the 27-year-old man’s life.
“The two members have done a great job,” he said.
“The man was unconscious and could have possibly died if not for the actions of the van crew.”
