Two men charged

By Vanessa Chircop
POLICE arrested and charged two men last Friday in relation to three counts of aggravated burglary that occurred in Altona Meadows over a two week period.
It is alleged the men, both aged in their late 20s, broke into the homes while the victims slept – taking off with handbags.
With Hobsons Bay Police making a point of cracking down on burglaries, Detective Senior Constable Glyn Woolley said the arrests were a positive outcome.
“It’s very bad crime – people sneaking into houses where people are present,” he said.
“We don’t know if they had been caught in the house what would have happened.”
Det Sen Const Woolley said the men were known to police.
