Awards a showcase

ENTRIES for this year’s Hobsons Bay Business Excellence Awards are set to close soon.
Hobsons Bay City Council has encouraged proud local business owners and operators to enter the 2012 awards, with nominations closing on Friday 20 July.
The awards offer the municipality’s businesses an opportunity to showcase their innovation, creativity, community contribution and achievements.
All businesses within Hobsons Bay are eligible to enter the competition, which has nine categories including new/start-up business, retail, hospitality, tourism, transport and logistics, manufacturing and industrial, professional services, not for profit/community service; and home-based.
In addition to these sections, the judges will choose three winners from all entries for achievements in environment and sustainable business, good access/good business and business of the year.
The Mayor’s Business Award will be selected by the Hobsons Bay mayor from all businesses which enter the awards.
Last year, Compu-Stor Melbourne won the Hobsons Bay Business Excellence Award in the transport and logistics category.
The transport and logistics service, specialising in offsite document and data storage, opened its doors in Altona during 2007.
Compu-Stor’s branches in Altona and Perth document also offer scanning services, secure offsite backup and online storage and full document retrieval services.
Last year, the Hobsons Bay Business Excellence Awards judges were impressed with Compu-Stor’s high levels of customer satisfaction, hard work and competitive service offered to clients.
