IF you’re game to see a good show, booking tickets to ‘Cluedo – the musical’ performed by students from Bayside P-12 College could be the right move.
Staff and pupils have written their own show based on the board game, including music from the 1940s through to the 1990s, which will follow Inspector Grey and his team as they investigate a murder which takes place at a country estate.
Year 12 student Chloe Marie, who will play the character of Miss Scarlett, has been busy rehearsing the show while also studying for her VCE exams.
“I don’t do any acting outside of school but I love to sing and play guitar and I also write poetry and lyrics,” the multi-talented 17-year-old said.
“The thing I have enjoyed most about the play is working with other people and seeing our hard work pay off.
“I always get nervous before a show. I think it’s a good thing as it helps us perform better.”
Her fellow year 12 student and cast member, Melinda Henry, said she would portray the part of Ms Peacock during the performance.
“As this is my first show, I will definitely get nervous,” she said.
Melinda said she has enjoyed working with a large group of people to create the show and “being able to create something that will be enjoyed by so many other people”.
Sixteen-year-old Year 10 student Daniel Nuske, who will take on the famous character of Detective Inspector Grey, said he has made new friends during rehearsals.
“I don’t do any acting outside of school but I do play guitar and bass guitar,” he said.
‘Cluedo-the musical’ will be on 17, 18, 19 and 20 August at 7.30pm at the Bayside P-12 College’s Williamstown campus hall.
Tickets are available from all the college’s Altona, Newport and Williamstown campus offices.
Cost: $16 adults, $12 students or $50 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).
