CATHOLIC Regional College in Caroline Springs recently celebrated the official opening of a new building that will ensure young students continue to receive the best possible education in a modern and comfortable environment.
CRC formally opened the Year 9 classroom block which comprises six classrooms, office, seminar room and a break-out space.
All rooms are fitted with bi-fold doors that open into a hallway to create an open learning area.
Gorton MP, Brendan O’Connor, visited the school to open the new construction and joined in the celebration with college principal, Kate Dishon, students, staff and the college community.
Mr O’Connor said that students deserved the best resources possible and that the new amenities were a marvellous asset for the school.
“Congratulations to Catholic Regional College Caroline Springs for bringing this project to life,” he said.
“This dedicated, custom built space is a terrific resource for the more than 160 Year 9 students currently enrolled at the college.”
Mr O’Connor said students and families living in Melbourne’s West deserve nothing less than the best educational resources possible.
Ms Dishon said the college community welcomed the facilities.
“The students and staff have embraced the learning opportunities that a space like this provides. It is a welcoming place that allows student to learn in many different ways,” she said.
“When we were designing the building we wanted a space that would provide us with the greatest flexibility and this has certainly been achieved.”
