OVER 100 eager tennis fans descended on the Green Gully Tennis Club last month for the Australian Open Blitz. The event saw both the men’s and women’s trophies on site, which will be presented to the winners of the Australian Open.
Other activities included a service speed recorder, hot shot courts, hit the target competitions as well as social play and other games. The Australian Open Blitz is a national competition, run by Tennis Australia, that allows both new and experienced players the chance to win major prizes.
There is also the chance to have a player in the 2014 Australian Open draw to represent Green Gully.
On the night, Green Gully juniors Alana Dragovic and Tegan Georgieski were busy completing challenges to rack up points for the club.
Dragovic is currently ranked fourth in Australia on the individual points tally after amassing a staggering 415,690 points.
On the clubs leaderboard, Green Gully is ranked 18th in the country.
