Hat's a nasty gang crime

A GANG viciously attacked and threatened to stab a teenage boy in St Albans on Sunday 2 March – just so they could steal his baseball cap.
Police have appealed for witnesses following the armed robbery, which occurred in a grassland reserve between Yarmouth Ave and Oleander Dve around 5pm.
The victim, a 15-year-old St Albans resident, was walking in the reserve while wearing a Monster-brand hat.
He was approached by another youth who demanded the cap, but the 15-year-old refused his request.
Another three youths approached the victim and took him over to a bench seat, where one of the aggressors produced a flick knife.
The armed youth told the victim if he didn’t hand over his hat, he would be stabbed.
The youth who had originally approached the victim stood up and body-slammed him to the ground.
The victim lost consciousness and while he was on the ground, his baseball cap was stolen.
When the victim awoke he managed to make his way home where he was treated by paramedics and conveyed to hospital with a dislocated shoulder.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 18000 333 000.
