ARGUABLY the biggest name in the music industry to ever come out of Wyndham, Anthony Callea still lives locally but is in the middle of releasing his newest single which he promises will change the way people think of him.
Anthony Callea first rose to fame as the runner-up of the second season of the television singing competition Australian Idol.
Since then he has released a number of singles and albums, including Australia’s fastest and highest selling single of all time.
His latest single however is completely different to some of the ballads he has released in the past.
Entitled “Oh Oh Oh Oh”, it is a fast tempo dance pop song which Anthony told Star was the culmination of where he was at in his life now.
“It’s been eight years since I released my first single and for the last two years I’ve based myself in LA,” Anthony said.
“I guess just being surrounded by a new environment and new people has made my music evolve along the way and I was just able to walk into the recording studio without any restrictions.”
Anthony wrote his latest single with DJ Poet, best known for writing some of the biggest hits for the Black Eyed Peas.
But despite all his success the tireless performer said Wyndham was still home for him and his partner Tim Campbell.
“I’ve lived all over the place and I just decided that I wanted some space,” he said.
“Everything’s great in my life right now and I couldn’t be happier,” he said.
Oh Oh Oh Oh was released earlier this week. For more information visit www.anthonycallea.com.au
