ANGELA and Jeanette from A.J’s creative master classes are ready to share their talents and invite people to explore the whimsical art of cake decorating.
The Altona Meadows Community Centre will host the ladies for a number of professional cake-decorating classes that cater for both adults and children.
Angela Borg and Jeanette Taliana are cake connoisseurs having completed several courses and workshops in the fine intricacies of cake decorating.
“Jeanette and I, who have been friends for the past 20 years, have decided to get together as a team to teach our skills and knowledge and techniques to our local community centre,” Mrs Borg said.
The children’s classes are for 10 to 18-year-olds and the adults classes cater to all other ages.
The children’s cup cake decorating class run on a Tuesday from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Each week the children learn how to decorate a new design for the cup cakes, for example how to create the Sesame Street characters.
The adult courses cost $150 and run for three weeks on a Thursday from 7pm to 9pm, with a kit supplied.
Mrs Borg said cooking and cake decorating were her passions, and encouraged beginners to give it a go.
She said reality cooking shows like channel 7’s My Kitchen Rules and Master Chef have created a boom in the niche industry.
“Some people put themselves down and think they can’t do it, but if you put your mind to it and with our help we’ll prove you can,” Mrs Borg said.
