ALTONA’S Premier Division bowls season is over after suffering a nail-biting defeat at the hands of Moonee Ponds on Saturday. With a place in the grand final up for grabs, the A’s went down by three shots, 72-69.
In rink results, Brenton Coad and David Zitter were victorious by four and one shots respectively while Brad Peck and Brett Foley both went down.
The result means that Moonee Ponds will now play Melbourne in the grand final this week.
In other sectional final results played over the weekend, Yarraville/Footscray defeated Heathmont by 15 shots in Division One and Altona Sports defeated Narre Warren by eight shots in Division Three.
