IT’S a far cry from playing live gigs around Melbourne, but multi-talented singer and dancer Erin Shay will soon be performing as the bride of Frankenstein in an overseas musical.
The Taylors Lakes resident scored the lead role in the upcoming ‘The Monster Rock Show’ and last week flew out to Singapore to begin rehearsals at Universal Studios.
“I was so excited when I found out, I didn’t expect it,” Ms Shay said.
In her first leading role, the 24-year-old will play a seductress who is the primary love interest of the leading male. The musical is scheduled to run for more than a year so the avid musician made sure to pack her guitar with her as she planned to continue writing music while overseas.
The professional singer-songwriter, who has supported famous Australian artists including James Reyne, Vanessa Amorosi and Shannon Noll, said she hoped to release her first album next year.
