Fight against poverty

BRIMBANK City Council will hold a number of events during Anti-Poverty Week, including a morning with Dr Helen Szoke, head of the Victorian Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission.
Brimbank Council, along with its social justice partners, are eager to address the biggest issues facing the Brimbank community.
Public transport, housing shortages and employment were identified in the Social Justice Summit as the key areas for improvement.
Other events include a free community lunch on Wednesday October 20, and a children’s festival on the following Sunday.
National Anti-Poverty week runs from October 17 to 23.
