A MAN was struck and killed by a Melbourne to Sydney bound train last week.
The 68-year-old was walking along the trestle bridge near Hedgerow Court, East Keilor, when the incident occurred. It is believed pedestrians often use the bridge as a shortcut across the Maribyrnong River.
He was killed instantly when the train, travelling at high speed, struck him.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
