Grants given to 70 groups

BRIMBANK City Council has given community grants totalling more than $329,000 to 70 organisations within the area.
Chair of the Brimbank administrators John Watson praised all the groups that applied for the grants.
“The intentions and objectives of the groups seeking funding illustrates community pride is thriving in Brimbank,” he said.
“There are so many organisations working toward betterment for their communities, so narrowing down the list of successful applicants is always a challenging process.”
“All 140 submissions met the guidelines for making a community grants application which is a fantastic result for the success of the process and goes to show that there is a good understanding among community groups and members who have applied.
“The 70 organisations that have received funding are preparing projects as diverse as health for babies, arts and theatre, gardens, obesity and diabetes, cooking, sports, fiestas and driving tuition for migrants and many others, but the one common thread is community inclusion and wellbeing.”
