AN ELDERLY man has suffered serious foot and arm injuries after backing his car into a neighbour’s house in Powlett St, Altona Meadows.
It appears the 78-year-old was half sitting in the driver’s seat with one leg out the door as he was reversing out of the driveway to go to work about 5am last Friday.
Police believe the man’s left foot became wedged between the accelerator and brake pedal., projecting his car backwards through a fence and across the road, into the front of his neighbour’s brick home.
The man was taken to the Alfred Hospital with serious injuries.
