A GROUP of Taylors Lakes Secondary College students are set to wow audiences with their upcoming production Miss Anthrope’s Theatre.
The talented performers have been working on the play since last year and co-wrote the production with drama teacher Adam Cribbes who praised them for their dedication to the project.
Mr Cribbes said with weekly rehearsals since April, the group had become very close and were keen to show off their acting, dancing and singing abilities to the wider school community.
“They’ve put in a lot of hard work,” Mr Cribbes said.
“There’s been a lot of opportunity for others to get involved behind the scene.”
He said the play focussed on an evil main character, Miss Anthrope, who kidnapped people and forced them to perform various popular movies sequences for her.
The drama teacher described the production as the students’ version of popular movies like Twilight, Lion King and Romeo and Juliet, and said the idea stemmed from their interest in popular culture.
He said musical elements had been included to bring out the musician in all students from Year 7 to Year 12.
