A CYCLIST was killed after being hit by a car in Hillside on Friday.
Investigators believe a maroon Nissan coupe was travelling east on the Melton Highway when it struck a cyclist travelling north at the intersection of Gourlay Rd at around 6.15am.
The woman died at the scene.
The driver, a 23-year-old Hillside man, is assisting police with their enquiries.
The incident brought the provisional road toll to 35.
