POLICE are investigating after a man was bashed and robbed at the Sunshine Railway Station car park.
At around 7.50pm on Tuesday a 32-year-old Derrimut man alighted from the train at Sunshine Station and walked through the underpass to his car which was parked in the Sun Crescent car park.
As he was entering his car he was confronted by a gang of four men aged in their late teens to early 20s.
When the victim refused to hand over his phone, the men began punching him repeatedly to the head and face.
When he attempted to escape another four men appeared at the scene.
The man was knocked to the ground, where he was repeatedly kicked to his legs and back.
After handing over his wallet, the man managed to get to his feet and run away towards the station.
The gang left the scene in the direction of the Foodworks Supermarket.
When they were gone, the man returned to his car and drove to the Sunshine Police Station where he reported the incident.
Officers from the Transit Criminal Investigation are investigating.
