HUNDREDS of windows have been smashed by a group of vandals on scooters across Brimbank and Melton.
Police are unsure of how many people are involved in the group, who have targeted cars, shops and offices in Caroline Springs, Hillside, Taylors Hill, Sydenham, Taylors Lakes and Keilor Downs.
Melton CIU Detective Sergeant Robert Henley said the offenders had targeted cars in suburban streets and car parks, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.
Det Sgt Henley said the offenders were known to ride moped-style scooters and police are appealing for anyone who has seen people driving scooters around the area to report the registration and location to police.
Police are also investigating whether the group is linked to a series of cars torched in Brimbank last month.
A car was set alight at around 1.50am on Wednesday 25 July in Carrington St, Sydenham.
A short time later, at 2.45am another car in the street was set alight and both vehicles were completely burnt out.
At 6.45am a car was set alight in Copperfield Dr, Delahey and was also destroyed.
Earlier in the month a car was also damaged by fire in Lauriston Quay, Caroline Springs.
