A 15-YEAR-OLD will face court after he was intercepted driving a vehicle on the Western Freeway in Rockbank last Thursday morning.
The Kurunjang teenager will be charged on summons with unlicensed driving and stating a false name and will appear at Sunshine Children’s Court at a later date.
Police were only able to identify the offender’s correct identity when they drove him to his home address.
Meanwhile, police were left shaking their heads after a 45-year-old male from Melton had his licence immediately suspended for driving the wrong way in a service lane on Exford Road, Melton South, earlier this month.
Leading Senior Constable Allan Edwards said a preliminary breath test indicated the driver had consumed alcohol, and he was conveyed to the Melton police station where another test showed a reading of .076.
As the offender had a prior conviction of drink driving within the last 10 years, his licence was immediately suspended with the matter to be heard at Bacchus Marsh Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on Barries Rd, Melton, that left a female driver hospitalised.
The accident occurred on Wednesday 7 August at around 6.50pm, and involved a white Commodore and a white Falcon, close to KFC.
A 19-year-old male from Melton was interviewed for offences including conduct endangering life. He will be charged on summons with a number of offences to attend Bacchus Marsh Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
