The Sunshine College students recently received accolades for their entrepreneurial skills after designing a teenage-friendly crepe restaurant.
The two were among a group of Year 11 students whose business sense was commended during Victoria University’s iPlan a Business (iPAB) awards.
The budding entrepreneurs took out the top prize in the Western Region awards and came second in the state finals, after impressing the judges with their detailed plan, which included store and menu descriptions.
Based in inner Melbourne, the café would specialise in crepes, coffees and desserts.
Business Management teacher Jack Chand said the students had worked hard on the project and had come up with a realistic concept that would be successful in the real world.
Mr Chand said the school took the plan to a bank manager to test whether it was feasible and had received positive feedback.
“They told us it would be approved so there is no doubt that this plan would work in the real world,” Mr Chand said.
