Have a say

BRIMBANK residents have been urged to comment on the council’s recently developed sports and leisure plan.
The Draft Sports and Leisure Strategy Action Plan was released for public comment following its endorsement at the council meeting on 16 November.
The plan, intended to provide a strategic and integrated framework for the health and wellbeing of the Brimbank community, sets out recommendations under five themes: participation; promotion; planning; capacity building and leisure facilities.
Chair of Brimbank’s administrators, Peter Lewinsky, said through the action plan, council’s aim was to improve the quality of life for Brimbank residents and to increase levels of participation in sports and leisure activities.
“The recommendations set out in the draft action plan have an overarching focus on increasing participation levels in Brimbank, regardless of age, gender, cultural background and socio-demographic grouping. We want to provide a more diverse and relevant mix of sport and recreation facilities and programs, as well as a higher standard of sport and recreation facilities, programs and services,” Mr Lewinsky said.
The Draft Sports and Leisure Strategy and Action Plan will be on public exhibition until Friday.
