AN ART exhibition in Laverton will raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The show, which will celebrate life and artworks created by the late artist Susan Stanjo, will be launched at the Woods Street Art Space on Friday.

Curator Katherine Dine said the exhibition would be on until 20 January.

Ms Dine said Susan experimented with many different artistic styles and painting techniques during her life.

The artist suffered from back pain for many years and passed away after she developed complications from an operation, to improve the condition.

“I met Susan through my work with the Laverton Arts and Culture forum; she would exhibit regularly in our group exhibitions, her work was ever popular with the community,” Ms Done said.

“When I heard of Susan’s passing, I felt compelled to hold an exhibition of her life’s work.

“I had been to her home a few times where she would show me all her new works.

“I know many of them have not been seen by anyone.”

All proceeds from the exhibition’s artwork sales will go to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The show will be launched Friday 6.30pm at the Woods Street Art Space, 44

Woods St, Laverton. The exhibition will be open Saturday and Sunday between 11am-3pm.
