FAMILIES flocked to St Albans on Sunday to celebrate the annual Lunar New Year Festival. The St Albans community welcomed in the Year of the Snake as crowds gathered in Alfrieda Street to take part in the celebrations. Brimbank residents were treated to a smorgasbord of delicious food while enjoying free entertainment, carnival rides, karaoke and a fireworks display. The festival was organised by the St Albans Business Group Association with support from Brimbank City Council and ran from 10am until 10pm. The St Albans Lunar New Year Festival will be a first of a number of Chinese New Year festivals held across Melbourne.
