Margaret McGrath is seething after items like furniture and car parts were left on the empty block of land next door to her Kenny Street property.
The elderly resident said she had complained to the council on countless occasions, but nothing had ever been done to clean up the area.
“I feel like this area is neglected. The council has forgotten about us,” Mrs McGrath said.
“It’s an absolute disgrace.
“I’m a woman walking a dog and I could fill a book with what needs to be replaced.
“If the council has roadside patrols, why don’t they come out and look at the area?
And it’s not only rubbish being dumped that concerns the resident, but also the lack of lighting on the street, leaving the area prone to “hoons”.
“The area is dimly lit. There needs to be more lighting, but the council has said it’s not warranted.”
Mrs McGrath claims she has often spotted drivers loitering alongside the kerb in the dark and the next morning has found eggs and other rubbish strewn along the gutter.
“I feel unsafe and it’s not fair because I have lived in the area for over 40 years.”
