BRAYBROOK resident Thanh Vo is making a splash for all the right reasons.
The 15-year-old St Aloysius College student recently won a competition for her water bottle design, which is now being used throughout the school.
The competition was part of a program aimed at eliminating plastic bottles and encouraging students to drink more water. A grant from City West Water allowed the school to purchase two filtered water fountains and Ms Vo said the program has been a resounding success so far, particularly as teenagers now realised the importance of drinking water and recycling.
The Year 10 student said she was very proud to win the competition and enjoyed watching students walking through the school grounds with her design in their hands.
But she said creating the design took more time than she expected.
“I went with the flow and designed it around the colour blue,” Ms Vo said.
“It took a while to perfect. And I was really surprised when I won.”
The design depicted a fusion of city and nature to help illustrate the importance of eco-friendly behaviour.
