A WOMAN has been stabbed to death in Sunshine today after an alleged argument with her killer.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the corner of Hampshire and Devonshire roads in Sunshine at about 12.25pm today.
An eyewitness exclusively told Star that she saw a man and a woman fighting just near the intersection before the man punched the woman in the face.
“I heard screams and I turned to see him punch her,” she said.
She said the woman broke free but fell before she was stabbed twice by the hooded man.
“I didn’t know what to do,” the witness said.
Witnesses rushed to the aid of the woman, and scurried to call police and ambulance services.
They tried to resuscitate her but she died at the scene.
“I saw her struggling to breathe … she was trying to talk … but then she just closed her eyes,” the witness said.
Other witnesses chased the killer, but he was still on the run.
The area surrounding the stabbing has been cordoned off.
Homicide Squad detectives were at the scene.
Police believe the man and woman were known to each other.
