ALTONA’S Ethan Mullenger has been recognised for his great sportsmanship with an invitation to attend a recent McDonald’s Good Sport Award Clinic.
The clinic, hosted my Mac Pack ambassadors Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin, Scott Pendlebury and Marc Murphy last Wednesday, saw the aspiring footballer receive the McDonald’s Good Sport Award.
Ethan’s local club nominated him for the award for leading by example, demonstrating the qualities of fair play, offering positive support to teammates and conducting himself graciously win or lose.
For his efforts, Ethan joined 400 other McDonald’s Good Sport Award participants from across Victoria. They put aside team loyalties and participated in the money-can’t-buy football experience with their football heroes.
During the clinic, junior footballers were given the chance to perfect their kicking, handballing and tackling skills by learning tips and hints from the sport’s elite talent in Franklin, Pendlebury and Murphy.
Mac Pack ambassador Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin said he was excited to meet the young footballers from across the state and reward them for their good sportsmanship on and off the field.
“Junior football is a great chance for youngsters to develop their skills and learn about working in teams,” he said.
McDonald’s Altona licensee, Zoe Gladio said the company was committed to supporting grassroots sporting initiatives in the community.
“McDonald’s is delighted to recognise junior footballers in the Altona area for displaying good sportsmanship by offering them the opportunity to train with some of the game’s greatest players through the McDonald’s Good Sport Award clinic.”
