Drugs bust

THREE men have been charged with trafficking and possessing a drug of dependence after police seized a large quantity of drugs from a vehicle and a motel room in Sunshine.
A Caroline Springs man, a Delahey man and a Williamstown man were all charged on 5 September after police found the large quantity of GHB. All three have been remanded in custody.
Several instances of theft from motor cars were reported to Melton Police earlier this month. Hillside was the worst-hit area, with one incident occurring in the car park of a childcare centre in Gourlay Rd.
A purse and cash were stolen and police have once again warned the public not to leave valuable items in their vehicles, or at least keep them hidden from view.
Meanwhile, two homes under construction were targeted by thieves in late August. A large quantity of timber was stolen from a home in Plumpton, while copper pipe valued at around $5000 was stolen from a home under construction in Melton West.
Police also reported that there was a brazen incident in the early hours of 28 August when an offender entered a home in Kyora Way, Melton West, despite occupants being inside the home. The offender stole a purse containing cash and personal documents.
And police are calling for public assistance after a Caroline Springs resident disturbed a man attempting to manipulate the front door of his home in Heysen Parkway on Tuesday 3 September. The victim chased the male from the scene but did not catch him.
This offender is described as thin build, 5’8 or 5’9 tall, wearing khaki three-quarter pants. It is believed the victim was travelling in a dark coloured Holden Statesman sedan, possibly an ’80s or ’90s model.
The driver of the vehicle is described as Caucasian, 5’8, stocky build, wearing dark coloured top with white writing on it and spoke with a Russian or Romanian accent.
