A MAGNIFICENT mural has been created by a team of pupils at Copperfield College’s junior campus in Kings Park.
Year 7 and 8 students participated in the project as part of the Civics and Citizenship strand of their curriculum.
The pupils started a ‘beautification project’ after identifying a need to improve the physical environment of the school.
The teenagers then took responsibility for improving designated areas of the college.
As a celebration of their hard work, the school decided to make a mural.
Professional artist AJ Tan first held workshops with the students, showing them his art and talking about his work across 25 years in the world of creative street art.
All the students were then invited to create a design which could be used for the mural.
Fifteen designs were selected and incorporated into the final design of the college mural.
A group of students then worked as a team to negotiate the final design and paint the mural.
The students involved on the mural were Ryu Imamura, Michael Berek, Blessing Karbiah, Grace Gonkarnue, Rebecca Vassallo, Jonah Schembri, Eithan Farrugia, Christalla Adamou, Thiel Iradukunda, Phuong-Uyen Phan, Mathew Labanie, Cindy Huynh, Lylac Le, Vicky Huynh-Phan and Anna Lam.
