MELBOURNE’S iconic Tin Shed Cowboy Stan Cash has ridden back into town and opened the door to a new tin shed in Brooklyn.
In 1985, the smiling cowboy was the face of 11 stores across Melbourne, selling electrical appliances and household items at low prices.
Alias, Rob Soek and partner George Caval have brought back Victoria’s favourite cowboy and the 1980’s style bargains everyone loved.
“People remember what it was like in the 80s and kept asking what happened to ‘Stan Cash’,” Mr Soek said.
“Our policy will continue to be: ‘Stack ’em high, and watch ’em fly’,” he said.
“The public loved the story of Stan Cash with his horse; blue cowboy hat, red and blue western shirt, white scarf, dark denim jeans and cowboy boots, riding through their memory – and we are here to recreate history.”
The only thing different this time around is that the items will also be available for online purchase.
Stan Cash was welcomed back by a flock of fans geared up in cowboy hats and boots at the store’s launch last month.
The hard work of Mr Soek and Mr Caval, migrants from the Netherlands and Italy, respectfully, is now an Australian legacy.
Stan Cash has been seen riding his horse through local streets and even travelling to the local schools on horseback to give motivational talks to students.
