Cops seize crop

POLICE and Drug Task Force investigators discovered 60 cannabis plants at two Deer Park homes last week.
Officers executed a search warrant at a house in Duncombe Park Way last Tuesday morning, where they found 30 cannabis plants growing hydroponically in the garage.
Evidence at the address linked investigators to a second house in Pioneer Dve, where a second warrant was carried out.
Police found another 30 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically at this residence.
A suspect was arrested and taken to the St Kilda Rd Police complex for questioning.
Police said illegal power bypass systems were found at both of the crop-growing locations.
The latest cannabis case follows a spate of court actions related to other Brimbank crop growers.

Last month, Star reported a Sunshine North drug trafficker would be allowed to keep his home after legal authorities lost a court battle to keep the property.
The Supreme Court of Victoria Court of Appeal allowed the man to keep his home, where police located 45 cannabis seedlings, 26 containers of fertiliser, an electrical power switchboard and hydroponic equipment.
In April, Star also reported a father of six, who was found guilty of cultivating more than 1200 cannabis plants, lost an appeal against his prison sentence.
Police found more than 1200 cannabis plants at the man’s Kings Park home and three rented factories in Sunshine North.
